This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the instructional coach at my school site and I not only support students' academics but also some emotional needs. My classroom is used as a safe space where students can come and visit when they have a difficult time in their classroom. My students are of varying ages and include some students with special needs. Creating a calming area in the classroom will allow them to manage their emotions and cope with whatever feelings they may be experiencing. The calming corner can provide a safe place where students can visit and self-manage their emotions.
