My Project

I love that my students persevere even when things get hard. They are thoughtful students who try to help each other with academics, for example: by explaining difficult math concepts, providing feedback for writing, and listening for fluent reading. Sometimes, they get so caught up with getting good grades that they can get frustrated and overwhelmed when they don't understand right away or when they make mistakes. I would like to help students manage their anxiety by providing books, headphones, and strategies they could use to acknowledge they are experiencing strong emotions, how to calm down, and remember that they are important members of the classroom and the greater community who are capable of doing great and positive things.
