Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My exceptional needs students are curious about learning. They love painting, drawing, math, language arts, dancing, and science. While engaging in their learning process students require breaks because they become overstimulated due to their exceptionality and require a calm area to regain their composure.

Due to students young age regulating their emotions is a daily task and students need to learn to calm their bodies in a cozy space in our classroom.

Having a calm area with materials in the school will support students by giving them access to a safe place to decompress when they cannot regulate or manage their emotions. This project requests beanbags, floor cushions, stacking toys, fidgets, and other sensory materials.
