Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help me build a much needed calming area in my classroom. The calming area will allow my students to take charge of their emotions and, overall, build a more positive classroom community. It will provide my students the opportunity to regulate their sensory needs and refocus their attention to their classwork. It will be considered a safe space for students to reflect on their thoughts, feelings, and actions before reengaging in their work. This calming corner is a great tool to encourage social-emotional learning as students continue to grow and develop.
