My Project

My students deserve to have a special place to feel good. That is why I am asking for funding to create a calming corner in my classroom and a bench where they can sit outside of our room.

It is so important for students to feel safe and calm in order for them to be able to learn.

There is so much research suggesting that having a place to go to self-regulate and feel their feelings can make a powerful impact on their learning and overall mental health.

I am hoping to be able to create a safe space in my room where students can sit and reflect and work through disputes with one another in a respectful and positive way. I am also hoping students will be able to get headphones to assist them in using their devices privately and using music and books to help set a positive tone.
