Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are highly energetic group and often struggle with very big emotions. Calm-down corners have been proven to be a successful strategy in helping students with big emotions that need to redirect. They are designed to be very comfortable areas in the classroom which provide sensory toys, flexible seating, comforting books, or other materials to help students deal with their big emotions.

I want to cultivate their love of learning while providing them with the support and resources they need to help them work through big emotions.

These resources will help me create a calm-down corner in my classroom to help my students in times of frustration, sadness, anxiety, and anger. It will be invaluable this school year as well as all the years to come.
