Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Some of our middle school students have encountered adverse childhood experiences and/or post-pandemic challenges. As a result, some students occasionally have difficulties regulating their emotions during school hours. Learning how to self-regulate is an important skill our students need to acquire so they are able to be ready (once again) to focus in class to learn and positively interact with peers, teachers, and/or support staff. Students will learn how to self-regulate by having the opportunity to journal, draw, deep breathe, and engage in mindful activities in a safe space and calming area before rejoining classroom learning.
