My Project

We are an Autism Special Day Class. Calming areas are essential in the classroom. With this project, I hope to provide a safe place for my students to go to when they become overwhelmed or begin recognizing the feeling of frustration.

Each of my students have different sensory needs but they could all benefit from these items.

The chairs will help them gain sensory input both from rocking and from the soft fabric. The stuff animals will be a comfort. They all love listening to stories and could use techniques in these stories. Fidget and calming toys are always helpful in these moments.
