First and foremost, a calming corner offers students a space to decompress and manage their emotions.

With the increasing prevalence of mental health issues among children and adolescents, creating a space that promotes mindfulness and relaxation can help mitigate stress. When students encounter overwhelming feelings—whether due to academic pressures or personal challenges—a calming corner allows them to take a step back, breathe, and regain control. This practice enhances emotional resilience and improves focus and engagement once they return to their learning activities.

Moreover, such a corner encourages the development of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. By providing tools such as comfortable seating, a carpet, large pillows, and soft lighting, students learn to identify their feelings and develop coping strategies.
