This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergartners are vibrant, full of energy, and ready to learn. Every day they come into my classroom eager to learn and share so much about themselves and their family. They are also flexible and creative when faced with different tasks. Sometimes having so many different personalities can be a challenge because they can't find the words or skills to express their emotions. By creating a Calming Area with the sole purpose of being a safe space for them to build skills and learn ways to de-escalate by engaging in mindful activities like journaling, drawing, breathing, etc.
