My Project

Classroom teachers, special education teachers, general education teachers, and therapists work together to meet the needs of students. Students in my classroom come from many different backgrounds. We strive to give them a place where they can grow and succeed.

Preschoolers are learning all about their emotions and how they work.

First, they learn to recognize and understand their feelings and those of others before learning how to manage them.

Learning to calm yourself is a lifelong skill that can start in preschool! A calming area in our classroom will help our students regulate their emotions and have a warm, inviting space to go to calm down, breathe, and rest.

The stations in this kit will help preschoolers learn ways that they can help manage their own big emotions. Managing emotions and knowing what to do with them is brand new to preschoolers. The items, such as weighted lap pads, calming pillows, and other items will also help me teach them strategies to calm their bodies and take control of their brains can be used throughout their lives.
