My Project

Students at MWS are bright, curious, vivacious and take great pride in their work and learning experience. Seeing their work posted in the classrooms provides just a glimpse of their creativity, intelligence, and strong work ethic. These highly motivated and determined students, however, also experience challenges that may impact their mental health, such as: conflict with other students, frustration with learning new academic material, or difficulty focusing due to anxiety about family members or relationships. These types of stressors can have a significant impact on the students' ability to succeed and thrive in the school environment.

By contributing to this project, students will be provided with tangible materials to support their use of social-emotional strategies that will develop and strengthen their ability to cope with strong feelings.

The process of learning to effectively self-regulate and manage strong feelings is ongoing and can always be further cultivated. Many of the classrooms have been provided with social-emotional lessons that provide education about emotions and coping skills. Providing students with materials to aide in the practice of these skills will empower them to integrate these social-emotional skills in their daily practice.
