My Project

Please help me create an inspirational and calming corner in my classroom. I selected a flexible seat, some social-emotional books to read, some kinetic sand, and a few other items I believe will promote calm and focus.

I am taking a class on classroom management, and it is emphasized that students act in unexpected and unwelcome ways when they are trying to tell us something.

Frequently, teachers respond in a punitive way, when we should respond in a calm and neutral way. I would like to use the calm down corner as a tool by which students can manage their own behavior. My students are a creative and expressive group and a calm down corner will help all of us manage our feelings and emotions.
