This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me keep my first graders calm and engaged! I teach first grade in a K-8 school in a large city. My classroom is normally a buzz of activity with thirty students cheering each others' achievements in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
They love to work and playing together most of the time.
Every once in a while, a student might feel frustrated or upset. These items will help create a calm classroom. The light covers will soften the fluorescent lights, so there is less glare. The sensory balls and jelly boards will go in our calming corner, where students can go to relax if needed. The microphone is for the children to present their work. They will feel so grown up with it! These items make a classroom cozy, but will not be available without your support.
