This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are brilliant, loving, and resilient students that have a lot going on in their lives. School and home life can be very stressful for some of my students. This can sometimes lead to them feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated and needing a quiet space to think, relax, calm down, and/or de-escalate. With these supplies, our school can set up a room dedicated to providing students with the safe space they need. These chairs, fidgets, and other sensory items can benefit students' self-regulation and self-control when they're feeling like they need some space away from their peers and noise. If students have a dedicated room in our school to get this support, they will be more likely to focus on school afterward.
