My Project

The items we are requesting, such as the calming tent, weighted blankets, manipulatives, puzzles, and sensory tunnel, will provide students with tools to manage sensory overload and emotional regulation. These items offer a safe, calming space to regroup and return to learning refreshed. The calming tent and weighted items will help students feel grounded, while manipulatives and puzzles will redirect their focus in a therapeutic way. These items will empower students to improve concentration, emotional resilience, and overall learning engagement.

The goal of this project is to create a space that supports emotional well-being and self-regulation.

Many students experience heightened stress or sensory sensitivities, making it difficult to focus or stay calm. With the sensory room, we aim to give students a space to take breaks and return to class feeling ready to learn. We hope this space will reduce anxiety and stress while helping students build essential coping skills that will extend beyond the classroom. Our ultimate goal is to foster a positive, supportive learning environment where all students feel safe, confident, and motivated to succeed.

Our students are resilient and capable, but many face challenges that make learning difficult. Some have sensory processing challenges, while others struggle with anxiety or emotional regulation. Despite these challenges, they demonstrate incredible perseverance, creativity, and kindness. They have a strong desire to succeed, but they need extra support to manage their emotions. This sensory room will give them the space and tools to thrive. By addressing their emotional and sensory needs, we provide a foundation for academic, social, and emotional success.
