My Project

My kindergartners are amazing. They are super energetic and full of big emotions that sometimes are so hard to control. Being able to calm yourself when emotions run high is a learned skill. Our class has learned how to handle big emotions, learned fun breathing techniques (bee, hot cocoa, dragon, whale, etc.), and read SEL read alouds. With big emotions sometimes students need a space to stop and help calm down or deescalate. A calming corner with fidgets, building materials and weighted stuffed animals is a positive space that will help my kinders calm their bodies down allowing them to be the best learners.
