This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Have you ever heard of a calm kit? My students are energetic, curious, and diverse learners who thrive when given the right tools to support their needs. Right now, they need a calm kit—a collection of resources to help them self-regulate and stay engaged. This kit would include noise-canceling headphones, wiggle seat sensory chairs, stress balls, and snacks. Many of my students benefit from movement and sensory input to stay focused, and these tools will help create a calm space where they feel supported and ready to learn.

By embracing sensory supports, we empower them to self-regulate, stay engaged, succeed in their learning journey, and create a calm space.

Noise-canceling headphones will block distractions, while wiggle seat sensory chairs provide movement without disruption. Stress balls offer a calming outlet, and snacks boost students' energy to stay engaged.

What makes my students special is their resilience and eagerness to learn in their unique ways. With the proper support, they shine. These small but meaningful resources will make a big difference in their success, helping them feel calm, focused, and ready to take on the day. These resources will create a more inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
