My Project

Teenagers have big feelings. Those with intellectual disabilities are no exception. Our classroom is conveniently located near the school's courtyard. We use it often for quiet time in the afternoon on nice weather days. We also use it to converse with students having a bad moment, to help them stop, breathe, and compose themselves.

A comfortable space in some fresh air goes a long way in pulling one's self back together.

We need comfortable furniture in the courtyard to be able to use the space at its maximum potential. We are asking for lounge furniture that is geared towards teenagers. Some of our students really enjoy the sensation of rocking, and a portable rocking chair does just the trick!

The furniture would allow students to ground themselves when they need to get back on track and learn one of the most important lessons: coping with big feelings.
