My Project

Many of my students with autism experience the world in unique and beautiful ways — but they also face challenges with sensory processing, emotional regulation, and social communication. That’s why creating a calming, supportive environment is so important.

Beanbag chairs provide soft, flexible seating, that helps meet sensory needs.

The gentle pressure and comfort can help students feel grounded and safe, especially when they’re overstimulated or anxious. It gives them a place to reset without leaving the classroom.

Social-emotional learning (SEL) tools help students with autism better understand their own emotions and the emotions of others. Tools like visuals, emotion cards, and guided SEL activities support them in learning how to recognize feelings, communicate needs, practice empathy, and solve problems.

I want my classroom to be a place where every student feels safe, accepted, and empowered to learn in the way that works best for them. These tools will give my students with autism the support they need to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

When my students feel calm and understood, they can build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections — and that’s the kind of growth that lasts a lifetime.
