My students need an area where they can safely rest, identify and readjust their emotional state of being, and check themselves back into balance.
Whether they are experiencing stress, fighting a cold, or feeling like they need a moment to themselves, the purpose of the Calming Corner is to give my driven and kind students a mini oasis in the classroom where they can go, sit, lie down, listen to music with the canceling nose headphones, look at the moon glow and the shining stars, grab a pillow, or hold a stress squiggly toy to soothe them.
