Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My exceptional students are in need of a calming corner that can accommodate each of their social-emotional needs. Specifically, in moments they require brief breaks from an overwhelming task or when they are having a tough time regulating their emotions. Currently, they ask to take a break by either putting their heads down or taking a brief break outside the classroom.

An accessible calming area will provide alternative options and will allow them to calm down, take brain breaks or have a safe space within the classroom to de-escalate after a meltdown.

The products that I have selected will not only support their social-emotional behavior but will help in transitioning back into class activities and refocusing on tasks.
