My Students

My Pre-K scholars are amazing! They are the only full day class in our school. They are eager to learn and love being in school. Our school is very diverse and takes pride in welcoming and engaging all scholars and families. We are committed to creating a school where kids feel safe, loved, and motivated.

As a school, we take pride in creating an environment where we celebrate diversity, discuss and study racial equity, and "inspire all scholars to reach high levels of social and academic achievement and to become future leaders through a collaborative system of support" (our school's mission statement).

My Project

I would like to create a more calming and inviting space for my scholars! I would like black pocket charts to replace some of my multi colored charts around the room. My pocket charts display important visuals such as our daily schedule, calendar, and small groups. I want the focus to be on the visuals and not the many colors of the pocket charts holding them. I would also like to display earth tones throughout the room by changing boarders and the backgrounds of bulletin boards.

I know that by using calming colors and matching pocket charts, it will create a clean and inviting space for my scholars to learn.

I would like my space to be a place where children and adults feel welcome and comfortable. By updating the materials displayed in my room, it will give all earners the opportunity to have a unique and calming space to call theirs.
