My Students

I am a Special Education Resource Specialist Teacher and I support my amazing and creative kiddos across many different classrooms from kindergarten to fifth grade! My passion is in building a community and safe place for students to learn and grow their skills.

My students live in an area of the highest poverty in town and 100% of the students at our school receive a free lunch.

Despite these challenges, my students are amazing kids! My students are spread out in different classrooms, so I will need a variety of basic supplies to support their learning needs.

My students' situation can be very challenging and we need many additional resources to supplement the severe lack of funding and opportunities my students deserve to have.

My Project

My students have spent almost two years learning from home. They have grown used to finding their own ways to be comfortable while they are learning. I find in my classroom, they learn best when they can choose what works for them. I'd like to expand and update my collection of flexible seating options to reflect my students' needs.

This project will help me honor my students' choices and give them more calming and comforting ways to learn.

This project will make a significant impact in my classroom, and around the school because I also support students who are having a really rough transition back to in-person learning. They need soothing options such as the pillows, balls, weighted stuffed animal, and the calming ball. Please help me give these amazing kids ways to learn the best way they can.
