My students need to be welcomed this August, 2018 with an inviting classroom. I am moving into a new building and because I was 13 years in a portable, my things were moldy.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
As a Prekindergarten Teacher for 13 years, I have been humbled and inspired everyday by my students. When my 4 year old students come into my classroom every morning beginning August 20th, 2018, I want them to feel excited to come to school. The first thing they will see will be the classroom. I want to create a happy, warm, and inviting environment for my students. My students' desire to learn and explore not only help build pre-academic skills, but also enriches their language, social and self-help skills.
Empowering my students through diverse means will ensure their overall school success.
My school is a Title 1 school. The student demographics consist of 95% Hispanic, more than three-quarters of them are from low-income households, and they are second language learners.
My Project
The first day of Prekindergarten is such an important milestone in a child's life. It is where the foundation will be laid for their educational path. Because I was previously located in a portable for 13 years, I had to get rid of the majority of the decorations on my walls, due to mold. I am eager to move to the new building, but ensuring it is well decorated, inviting, and promotes learning for 4-year olds, will be quite costly. Specifically, due to lack of space in the new classroom, I am in dire need of organizers, storage center racks, and bins. To create a welcoming and happy environment for my students, I decided to go with the Superhero theme. Kids will be empowered and eager to be Super Learners. I am in need of Superhero pocket charts, Welcome sign, borders for bulletin boards, Counting chart, alphabet chart, calendar, magnets to hang kids works, velcro to fasten things, birthday chart, stickers, nameplates, name tags and bulletin board creators (adhesive letters) to ensure the proper classroom environment is created for my PreK students.
It is here where students will be empowered to learn and succeed!
Memories will be created in this classroom. It will become their second home. Children need to have a warm, welcoming and sacred classroom environment to enrich their learning. Please help me have the necessary items to decorate and enable my students to enjoy their first year of school!
