My Project

I am a Behavioral Specialist. Having a variety of diversity books and social emotional books will allow me to read to my preschoolers, and help my children through their daily lives and the battles they face at such a young age.

Having diversity books to read to my children will help my children to build empathy, promote inclusivity, expand their world view, develop critical thinking skills, support positive self-esteem, and will exposé them to different cultures and backgrounds.

Having social emotional books to read to my children will help the children identify emotions, build healthy relationships, emotional regulation, social skills building, and open communication.

Young children don't often understand why they are exhibiting certain behaviors and do not know how to control their actions. Their brains are still developing cognitive abilities to process difficult emotions and consequences. With the help from adults, hands on materials, stories and real life experiences young children have a chance of understanding their behavior and finding a way to work through their emotions to be successful.
