My Students

I teach in a kindergarten classroom full of wondering minds and eager learners. They are the most loving little bunch and strive to put a smile on every face that they meet. Our kindergarten family works hard to build each other up and make students accountable for their learning and behaviors each day. Kindergarten is such an important grade level that helps form the child's outlook on education. My assistant and I feel that it is important for kindergarten to be a fun and beneficial experience.

Our students stem from diverse environments and are diverse learners.

It is vital that we provide fun and meaningful, hands on experiences to provide rich learning experiences to foster student growth. Our goal is to challenge each student by providing an intriguing and intentional learning environment that will lead our students to success! This can be challenging with the obstacles of virtual learning and social distancing.

My Project

I would like to provide each of my kindergarteners with a crate to store their items in at school. Due to COVID-19, we have to limit our transportation and number of storage areas in the classroom. Students have to store many items at their seats and many times struggle to keep up with them in an organized fashion. I feel that a crate will help eliminate the spread of germs while providing each child with personal storage space. These crates can be stored under the table beside their seats. This will also decrease the risk of accidents in the classroom that can be caused by disorganization and lack of storage space. Many items end up in the middle of the floor, causing others to trip over them. I think crates will help eliminate these problems and will help students feel that they have a place to call their own in the classroom.
