My Project

Thank you so much for taking the time to preview this exciting project!

Comparing and contrasting multiple versions of the same story is one of the comprehension skills elementary students need to master on their journey to becoming skilled readers.

For this project, I plan to engage my students in rich read-alouds using the various interpretations of "The Three Little Pigs" books as I explicitly teach this VITAL literacy skill.

Following our unit on comparing and contrasting, I would love to enrich their learning by integrating Science/STEM into literacy instruction. This project would aid in providing opportunities for the children to work in cooperative groups to design and construct a "wolf-proof" house.

Once the house has been constructed and tested (using a hair-dryer as the "wolf's huffing and puffing,") each group would then complete a writing activity describing their house as well as sequencing the steps they followed to create their masterpiece!
