Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As we move through this digital age, practical penmanship has fallen by the wayside in school curriculum. My students struggle with fine motor skills and handwriting their work. With writing becoming more important with the technological advances of algorithm-based text generators, my students struggle to complete handwritten essays. Their teachers struggle to read them.

With fun art assignments utilizing the calligraphy pen sets in this project, my students can both create art and their own personal brand as they develop handwriting skills and the signature they will use moving forward as an adult in a life that requires more than an X on official documents.

Students will create illuminated manuscripts and formal letters. We will work on typefaces and cursive, and each student will develop their name based signature.
