My Project

We look at many examples of numeric data in a typical statistics class. For labs, when students examine large data sets, they use computers. But for quizzes and exams, they use calculators.

I also want my students to get used to using calculators so they will be better prepared for taking standardized tests.

Many of the previous math courses at our school do not use calculators, so this statistics class has students using calculators a lot more than they have before.

Right now, we do not have enough calculators for every student to have a calculator to use. The calculators we have are four-function calculators and are not what they will be when they take the SAT.
