My Project

The use of a graphing calculator is a daily tool we use in the math classroom, especially as we move to a more digital world. My AP Statistics students need to have access to a graphing calculator as they prepare for the AP Exam and practice how to use the different functions while in class. Students enjoy doing hands on activities in math class, and they will be more engaged in the learning process. Since I teach at a low-income school, many students are not able to purchase their own math tools like TI-84 Plus CE Graphing Calculators or geometry compasses. Our students work so hard, and I want to help remove some of the obstacles our students face. I want every student to have their own calculators to use in math class and their own compass in geometry. I have other calculators that need AAA batteries, so I need to be able to replace these batteries to make sure I have working calculators for students to use while in math class. With doing hands on math labs, I need blow up world globes for my students learn about different statistical tests through investigating how much of the world is covered by water. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. You can help take the pressure off the student to make sure they have the necessary tools to be successful in math class. You will help the students to simply show up to class ready to learn, think, and grow mathematically!
