This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is a safe learning space for ten wonderful elementary-aged children with special needs.

We strongly value embracing one another's differences and encouraging one another to push ourselves to achieve our best despite our differences. Our school, volunteers, and teachers have done a wonderful job of including our students in extracurricular activities, on the playground, and during after school programs.

My Project

Our goal is to provide our students with the necessary life skills and experiences to easily transition them to life outside of the classroom. Some students with math-related disabilities have difficulty with retrieving facts, language, and memory.

We want to provide our students with a class set of calculators so they can practice skills like following a sequence of numbers, matching numbers from a math problem and inputting them into the device, working with real-world data, and exploring patterns.

That is why we are asking for a class set of calculators.
