My Project

Hello! I'm a 6th, 7th, an 8th grade computer teacher. I'm asking for some items to turn a small Philadelphia school computer class into a café, an atmosphere where they can experience a relaxing time but still be at school.

I am asking for 4 ball chairs and 4 faux fur pillows that will be in my calm corner to give students comfortable seating as they work and relax.

We also need dry-erase markers. Every color will go to use, especially because the students are always asking me to draw things on the board, in the suggestion box. In addition, we need 10 brand new headphones that will help my students be able to hear their I-ready and STAR testing activities.

Our classroom can also use 12 pieces of calm wall art that give off a Café atmosphere and gives students a nice vibe (that's what the kids say). In my calm corner, there is a table where the students do puzzles, and on that, we glue them together and tape them on the wall with each student's name on it. Lastly, we need 2 rugs that the school district just doesn't have the money to fund. A rug is important because it is where students can gather, read, or work.

My students are what people call "last chance" kids. Since we're a behavioral school, everybody assumes that because of the students' behavior that they are not worthy of nice things. However, I want them to know that they are just as deserving as the next kid. And with everyone’s help, I hope that’s obtainable!
