This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My youngest students are 4 years old and my oldest are 15 years old (preK-8th grade). I love the diversity of our school and learning about each and every one of them and what makes them so special.

All my students are unique and are seen as individuals with their own strengths and resources.

I am amazed every time I see how much resilience children have and how much they can achieve when they know that someone believes in them. The sky is the limit for them... and I want to offer them the world.

My Project

My students are struggling with an enormous amount of stress. These tools will be used in our counseling office to help them process their emotions and help them get through their day.

There is evidence from research and my personal experience working in schools that anxiety gets in the way of students' growth emotionally and academically.

The stress relief tools will be used throughout the day as needed when students are removed from the classroom or when they feel they need a break and a little help before going back to class. Mini figurines will be used during role play to promote storytelling and collaboration. I plan on using them for conflict resolution as well. Planners will be given to our most at risk students in middle school whose stress affect their abilities to concentrate and stay on top of their assignments.

Time to say goodbye to our stress and be successful!
