Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Most of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes and they eat free or reduced-price school lunch meals on a daily basis. I know that music education is making them better human beings and well-rounded citizens of our country. As well, music is improving their test scores on state mandated tests. My students love band so very much; so much, that the band hall is their second home. Not just their second home, but also their second family. They are always looking out for each other in any way possible. They know that it is an honor to be a musician in our band program, and they take it very seriously. So, even though we may not have the best equipment for learning music, they will always try their best.
My Project
These materials will make a huge impact in my students' learning by giving them a chance to play in our high school band program. As of right now, we do not have enough materials to give one mouthpiece to every low brass member of our band. 95% of our low brass players play on school owned instruments. We ask that students provide their own mouthpiece. Some students do not have the opportunity to purchase a mouthpiece on their own.
I refuse to let my students or our program be limited by the resources at hand.
All students deserve the opportunity for personal growth through a high-quality music program, and I know many of you feel the same way. Your donation can really help make a difference in a young person's life. Your generosity can show them that people care about them; people they haven't even met. A mouthpiece can make all the difference in the world.
