Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our library, I encourage students to engage in hands-on activities that inspire creativity and raise awareness on important topics. One way students can do this is through designing and creating buttons that communicate messages, spark conversations, and reflect their ideas. These buttons will serve as a medium for students to express their thoughts on important causes and societal issues, fostering both creativity and civic hands-on engagement.

To help bring this vision to life, I am requesting a button maker, accessories and necklace supplies that allow students to make words and share messages.

With these tools, students will have the opportunity to design, create, and distribute their buttons, all while exploring the power of visual communication and the impact of personal expression on social change.

By creating these buttons and necklaces, students will not only learn the technical skills involved in producing them, but they will also develop an understanding of how art and design can influence others and spread awareness about important topics.

This hands-on activity will be an exciting, meaningful experience for them, as they see their ideas take shape and have the potential to influence others.
