My Project

This will be my second year as a PK teacher sharing the magic of the butterfly life cycle with my students. I will be purchasing the caterpillars this school year in order to ensure we can still experience butterflies in our classroom. This project includes materials that would help to enhance our study of butterflies.

The center of this project is a favorite story book character - The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

This project includes several materials for students to use for storytelling. Students will be able to use the butterfly life cycle figurines, grass, rock blocks, flowers, fruits and vegetables as story props. The mirrored letters will add a literacy component to our storytelling. In addition to the story telling materials, students will also be able to retell the story on our felt board using the felt story retelling kit.

Paint sticks, markers and stickers are a favorite material in our art center. Looking forward to some colorful butterfly art projects with new materials as we head towards the end our school year.
