My Students

I teach science to all 64 fourth graders. They love to do experiments and learn more from hands-on opportunities.

My students attend a magnet school, which means they come from all over the city of Chicago.

Each day they take a world language class in either Chinese, Italian, French, or Spanish. Students take the same world language from kindergarten through eighth grade.

My Project

With these butterfly larvae my students will be able to gain first hand experience with the butterfly life cycle. This project will allow for every student to have their own mini larvae cup. Rather than clustering around one set of larvae that all students must share this will give each student a chance to take daily observations of their own larvae.

My students want to do more experiments and have more opportunities for hands-on learning.
