This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember how excited you were about going to school? My students love to learn and many of them have perfect attendance this school year. They strive to do their best in school. They constantly ask for extra work, however our copy machine has run out of toner.

I am a 1st grade teacher working in a high needs school, where 98% of the children receive free lunch.

Many of the students in our school are overage and are far below grade level. However, my students are wonderful group of children who despite all the obstacles surrounding them come to school eager to learn. I enjoy coming to work every day!

My Project

Last year, I was fortunate to get a copy machine donated to our classroom. The toner that I am requesting is for my classroom copy machine so that I may print out the necessary copies. Some of the curriculum we use in school comes with supplemental CDs where teachers may print out necessary materials for in class as well as for homework. The homework copies are necessary to reinforce the daily activities. Without these copies, it is extremely difficult to address the various needs my students have. I am asking for 2 toner cartridges for our copy machine. The toner will give the children the opportunity to get the copies they need to work on their reading, math and phonics skills. With the appropriate copies, my children will be able to get the reinforcement practice they need and be able to get the help they need to be successful in 1st grade.

Since, my students are far below level I need to constantly find work at the appropriate level for them.

Being able to use the copy machine makes it possible for me to address my students various academic needs. Thank you in advance for your kindness and consideration!
