My students need 3-ring binders, sheet protectors, card stock and clear pouches to create "B.E.E Binders". The acronym B.E.E. will stand for "Bring Everything Everyday".

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Teaching young children organizational skills and responsibility is necessary for lifelong success. In my pre-kindergarten classroom, I strive to provide daily meaningful opportunities that will allow my students to develop these important life skills.
My students, ages 3 to 5.5 years old, are part of an inclusive pre-kindergarten environment.
They live in a multicultural city and for this reason they are very diverse. They are diverse not only in their cultures and ethnic backgrounds, but also in their physical, cognitive, behavioral and emotional learning abilities. Our school is part of a Title 1 district where at least 75% of students qualify for free or reduced price meals.
My students' love for learning never ceases to amaze me. They are curious and eager to learn new ideas through play-based, multisensory, hands-on activities. As a teacher, I am constantly striving to provide them with different open-ended materials and experiences that will allow them to grow in all areas of their development. My ultimate goal is to provide a solid educational foundation and instill with them a lifetime love of learning.
My Project
Each child in my class will be given a personalized B.E.E. binder that he or she will bring to school EVERYDAY. My main goal with having these binders is to help the children develop responsibility and to become organized. These are important skills they will need throughout school and life. The binders will be used to maintain effective communication between home and school. They will contain EVERYTHING students and parents need to keep up-to-date with what is going on at school. This includes our daily schedule, lunch and breakfast menus, a class list, student work, classroom newsletters, school calendars, homework, PTO letters etc. By keeping everything together, the B.E.E. binders will aim to eliminate lost items and, as a result, keep families more informed of important events and their child's progress. I will stress the importance of the binders with the children and explain that it is their job to treat it with pride and respect.
Your support and generosity will allow my young students to develop many important life skills.
Using their B.E.E. binders, they will learn how to be responsible, independent, organized, and prepared. They will also learn how respect and to take pride in their belongings. I look forward to the prospect of being able to allow my students this wonderful opportunity!
