My Project

As a first year k-12 art teacher with limited supplies and money, I had to focus on what I had inherited in the art room for student projects. My goals are giving the students a choice while still teaching art design elements.

My high school and middle school students have all shown interest in the few woodburning kits I had in the classroom.

I always ask for student feedback on interests and what they would like to try in art and besides painting, clay, and leathercraft, they want to do more woodburning art. They want to do more! Even my 5th graders have asked to wood burn. The students enthusiasm has made them focus on producing some great art while I insert the ideas that hobbies can turn into a career and a commercial outlet.
