Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Volleyball program at my school has grown in so many incredible ways over the years. Like everything else, Covid shut down our program for two years before picking back up again in the Spring of 2022.

By the end of the season, I had students writing me letters explaining how volleyball helped them break out of their shells and gain so much confidence.

Especially for those who had been learning remotely for so long, having volleyball to look forward to each day helped to reintegrate them back to school.

Many of my students come from low-income backgrounds, and are constantly bringing up the fact that they wish they had kneepads and the proper equipment. They deserve the very best, and I thank you for your consideration!
