Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having blocks, straw connectors, and other building materials, such as legos are valuable tools in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) classroom as they provide hands-on, experiential learning that can deepen understanding and enhance student engagement. This is my first year teaching STEAM and I need to gather a collection of building materials for my students who work on many projects and hands-on challenges in class.

Building with blocks and LEGOs often involves group work, which helps students develop important collaboration and communication skills as they plan, build, and refine projects together.

I am requesting a variety of building materials that will improve my students' engineering designs and enhance their creativity as they create and modify prototypes for engineering challenges, while sharpening their creative design and problem-solving skills.

Incorporating these building materials in my classroom can make learning more interactive and enjoyable, cultivating a deeper connection with STEAM subjects and nurturing essential 21st-century skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork.
