My Students

Our students need supplies for bridge building and tower construction.

As a tenured high school teacher I like to prepare all my students for a better future.

We have many great students that lots of talents in many fields. Getting them the education to better prepare my students for STEM fields at the top, middle and lower levels of the work force. Top level engineers are equally important as the lower level of the actual constructors and the mid-level planners that include finances.

Giving my students a chance to learn the basic necessities and communication skills to work through projects they may get involved in in everyday life helps them feel the buy in to the value of a good education.

I feel all our students are equally important therefore I would like give them all in formation and experiences to help them choose their future career .

My Project

My project is to help students find things they like to do and give them an insight into STEM careers that produce qualified vocational skilled workers with career training. The balsa wood and kits that we would like can model the process and products of structural objects.

Construction of highways, buildings and bridges needs skilled workers of all levels.

Many of these skills are achieved on the job or through vocational school training. Helping our students not only become aware of these shortages but getting them the information and the right tools (skills) so that they feel comfortable working in a field with confidence to increase their chances to succeed in a career they like. We will build models of bridges and towers keeping track of supplies and costs as if they were real structures. Studying the physics and laws as the product comes together can help students feel the big picture.

The early onset of information and need in these STEM/STEAM based fields is a must for our community and state as a whole. Part of the solution is to start in middle school on up.
