Building Thinking Classrooms in 7th Grade RLA

Help me give my students the opportunity to present their thinking by getting out of their seats to work collaboratively around the classroom.

My Project

To get students excited about their learning, keep them engaged, and foster a deeper understanding of communication concepts, I am excited to implement the Building Thinking Classroom (BTC) strategies in our RLA classroom. BTC emphasizes active learning through student collaboration and movement, which is why I am seeking support to provide portable whiteboards for my students. By walking around the room and writing on these whiteboards, students will have the opportunity to engage with problems in a dynamic and hands-on way. This approach allows them to visualize their thinking, discuss strategies with peers, and gain immediate feedback, leading to stronger problem-solving skills and a deeper grasp of concepts.

The flexibility of using whiteboards also encourages a comfortable, low-pressure environment where students feel confident to experiment with different ideas.

This strategy promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and communication—skills that are essential both in and out of the classroom. Your generous donation will help provide these essential tools, creating a more interactive and engaging space where students can truly thrive.
