My Project

By providing my students with a class set of novels they will be able to build their reading stamina. My school is implementing a "D.E.A.R" (drop everything and read) program for 15 minutes a day in hopes to improve students reading stamina but also their desire to read. While, yes, they could read their own individual books, I think it would be awesome to have my whole class read one book, together, during the 15 minutes! This will allow us to dicuss the text and encourage comprehension questions which is something that my second graders currently have a difficult time with. I decided to pick Magic Tree House and Charlottes Web because I remember looking back and thinking fondly on those stories. Any donation would be very appreciated!
