My Students

I am an occupational therapist, serving elementary-aged children in a high-need area. I love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything. I am always looking for new ways to enhance the therapy experience for students, and new materials keep it interesting and FUN!

The students that I see on a daily basis have many developmental needs, especially when it comes to their fine motor skills.

Many of these children were not exposed to a variety of toys and materials as babies. These children are very excited when they are introduced to new things, and it can often change the entire tone of a therapy session. They are truly grateful for the opportunity to explore new things.

My Project

My students need theraputty, kinetic sand, handy scoopers and various school appropriate tools to build their hand strength and fine motor skills. Fine motor skills are very important for children, particularly those in elementary school. We all use fine motor skills for everything from writing, pointing with our index finger, using scissors, coloring, and so on. Fine motor skills are very important for school-aged children and can help pave the way to success. The materials being requested are some of the most efficient methods of improving these skills in a school setting.

Donations to this project will not only bring students happiness, variety, and fun on a daily basis, but will help them to gain the skills they need to succeed in school.

These students with developmental delays benefit from multi-sensory ways of learning, and you will be making a great difference with your donations!
