Building Social/Emotional Skills for Future Success

Help me give my students the materials they need to develop their social-emotional selves.

My Project

Social-emotional learning (SEL) is a teaching method that helps young children develop the skills they need to navigate life, including social, emotional, and cognitive skills. SEL aims to help children develop interpersonal skills that will help them in school, at home, and in the future.

These skills are integral for my students' future successes and without these skills they will not be able to learn more complex ideas and skills.

The materials I have requested will help my students to reflect and focus on their emotions and the effects of their emotions on those around them.

The Tonie Box and Tonie figures will give my students examples of an opportunities to put their reflective learning into practice. Furthermore, the emotions sorting game will help my students to recognize and differentiate what these emotions may look like in their environment.

My students are at the age where their minds are curious and excited to learn, it is the perfect time to establish a base of social/emotional well being!
