Project Proposal for 3D Printing Lessons for Special Education Students

Project Title: Enhancing Social-Emotional Learning and S.T.E.A.M.

Skills through 3D Printing

Project Description:

The project aims to introduce 3D printing lessons to special education students, focusing on enhancing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills and fostering knowledge in S.T.E.A.M. subjects. The project will provide hands-on experience for students to visualize, design, and assemble 3D projects using 3D model magic, 3D pens, and filament.

Project Objectives:

Develop students' creativity and critical thinking skills through 3D modeling and printing.

Improve students' ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with peers.

Enhance students' emotional regulation and self-expression through engaging in a creative process.

Introduce students to basic concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) through project-based learning.

Target Audience:

Special education students dealing with ADHD, ADD, Trauma, Anxiety, Autism, Emotional Disturbance, and Specific Learning Disabilities.

Project Resources Needed:

3D model magic

3D pens

Filament for 3D printing

Project Implementation Plan:

Introduction to 3D printing technology and its applications.

Hands-on training on using 3D pens and modeling software.

Guided sessions to help students design and create their 3D projects.

Collaborative assembly of 3D printed projects.

Reflection and discussion on the creative process and lessons learned.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Observation of students' engagement and participation.

Student self-assessment and reflection on their learning and growth.

Peer feedback and collaboration assessment.
