My Project

My students show a high aptitude for doing hands-on, kinesthetic, visual arts activities, and this has been particularly noticeable in their use of modeling clay, and their construction of modular sculptures.

We have used modeling clay which does not harden, and students have expressed the desire to make a more permanent object.

Constructing with air dry clay is a great way to do this, and also requires learning additional skills beyond modeling clay.

Students also enjoy making sculptures out of modular units. Cardboard is a great, readily-available learning material, and the cardboard tools will help students learn how to make basic, sculptural constructions.
